In Celebration of the 600th Anniversary of the Forbidden City, the Lang Lang Arts Foundation, in collaboration with Weibo and weigongyi, is launching a “Paying Tribute to Traditional Culture” short video collection activity. This initiative invites submissions of original music pieces themed around traditional Chinese culture, aimed at showcasing and praising the beauty of Chinese culture. It also seeks piano performance videos from children to promote China’s outstanding cultural and artistic education.
The activity will officially launch on Weibo in October as an important sub-event of the “National Tide and Eastern Beauty” theme, calling on more people, especially children, to learn about and experience the beauty of traditional Chinese art through music.
As of November 16, 2020, the Weibo’s “Super Topics” has garnered over 12.4 million views. Numerous museums, including the Museum of the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King and Sichuan Museum, as well as prominent music influencers on Weibo, such as Zi De guqin Studio, have published high-quality music videos. Individual videos have received over 220,000 views and more than 500 interactions.
Lang Lang Arts Foundation is dedicated to the popularization of music education. This themed activity represents a valuable attempt at arts promotion in society. In the future, the foundation will continue to explore possibilities in arts education through diverse thematic activities.
